August 2026 · Q&A
What the drone actually sees
August in Pasco is heat, afternoon cells, and attics that cook the deck. This month’s Q&A is the inspection: Part 107 pilots, autonomous flight, and what AI flags before anyone sells you a roof.
Is the drone inspection really free?+
Yes. Autonomous flight under a Part 107 remote PIC, AI damage scan, photos of every slope, remaining-life call, and a written quote only if the roof needs work. About 1 in 5 times we tell homeowners to wait.
What does AI damage detection actually flag?+
Missing or creased shingles, lifted flashing, ponding, exposed felt, granule loss, failed boots. That list is a starting point. A Precision inspector reviews every flag so a model does not sell you a roof you do not need.
Are your drone pilots FAA certified?+
Every Precision drone pilot holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. Commercial roof work is not a hobby flight. The PIC is on site, can take the controls at any time, and we stay in visual line of sight.
Do I have to be home?+
Someone 18+ should be on site. Pets inside. The flight is usually 15–25 minutes. We stay off the roof unless we need a hands-on check after the scan.
